Blues veterans come to Collingwood on Feb. 18

A pair of Canadian blues veterans will be taking the stage in Collingwood next week. Wayne Buttery and Roly Platt are the next act in the Collingwood Spring Blues Series and will be performing on Feb. 18th at 7 p.m., at the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts Centre at 163 Hurontario St. Buttery is known for his work with his Blues band, Wayne Buttery and The Groove Project.

Buttery has been entertaining audiences for more than four decades and he has shared the stage with such well known artists as Wilson Pickett and Tina Turner.

Platt is known as one of Canada's premier harmonica players. To date, he's recorded on over 800 national commercials, TV and film scores and album cuts. First learning to play harp listening to mostly blues and bluegrass, Platt has toured with Ronnie Hawkins, Matt Minglewood, Dutch Mason, Roy Young, Hock Walsh and Mike McKenna.

The spring series continues with Fredricton's Ross Neilsen on March 18, Bobby Dean Blackburn on April 15 and a special appearance by Michael Pickett on May 20.
